Gwen Cannon was born and raised in the ghetto section of Detroit, Michigan, Jefferies housing projects. She received her education in the public school system, she earned a Bachlors degree in Management and an MBA in Business Administration from Cornerstone University,

Gwen is the author of four hip hop urban books, currently on sale at Barnes and Noble, and Amazon.com. In her spare time, she loves to read, write poetry, cook, play co-ed softball, and my new passion writing novels.

Gwen is happily married to her soulmate James A. Cannon, they have five sons, James Jr, Corey, Jonathan, Jordan, Jalen, and one grand daughter, Co'Mya.
