Where is Jennifer Granholm when Blue Cross Blue Sheild announces it is raising cost!!!

Here we go people. Firstly I was not a fan of Jennifer Granholm getting re-elected but can someone for love of it explain why she if not fighting Blue Cross Blue sheild the insurance culprits of the game when they announced they are raising the their rates in Jan 31 DET NEWS paper... This I totally bad governing on Granholm's table. I mean Michigan is here under a full blown depression or some call it a recession. Blue Cross wants to raise rates on individual PPO, called Blue Value, which could see monthly rates for one person rise from $171 to $213 . Listen here group If the rate increase goes unchallenged, the changes could go into effect as early as June 1. The killer about this it is for policies bought by people who aren't covered by their employers or are seeking supplemental Medicare coverage!!! Obama's plan which he hopes to implement.. I would be willing to pay more taxes with substantive results..

Things don't look good for any Democratic candidate for the governor's race in 2010.. though on the insurance front (auto, life, medical, etc.), I suspect that any GOP candidate will likely fall in line with free-market absolutism that allows the Insurance groups and others to more or less do what they want even if it falls in the category of profiteering..; ▶ Reply to This

Yeah I bet ole Devoss gives it a soild run. Granholm is breaking backs of the dem people that put her. The recession is something out of her control but this insurance thing is her fight for us. Watch what happens... She will flop.

ha-ha! I forgot about old Dick Devos! He probably will run again! If he gets in I wonder if Amway/Quixtar will get some tax breaks.. It would be interesting to see if really-old Brooks Patterson officially throws his hat in the ring, then the two of them, and maybe Mike Cox, can debate.. oh, I guess I can't forget about Keith Butler, he may make a go for it, too (hey, Bishop, would ya decline a salary if elected?)..
I want to know will any of these people throw their support behind mass transit (www.detroittransit.org), and have a far-reaching urban agenda for infrastructure & education improvements.. issue an order to dissolve Detroit Public Schools and re-create it with the 21st century in mind, with none of the bureaucracy that's leaving kids behind.. lift the cap in Detroit on charter schools, let as many get going as possible; encourage state colleges/universities to have charter schools.. offer help for the re-greening of Detroit, claiming derelict properties for nature preserves and other uses, attracting wind-farm energy...; ▶ Reply to This

Hype you got some good points. Somer dark horse candidates. The week has been a hot sticky mess. Even with Kilpatrick getting out. I blame alot of these shamful decisions that have been made in the city on the people firstly then the city council!!!

The two best qualified people in the state to run for the Office of Governor - IMHO - are Dennis Archer (D) and Michael Cox (R). Since Archer has already gone on the record as saying that he is not seeking that office, Cox is in the driver's seat. Patterson is thinking about it but he's too old and his popularity in Detroit is not very good. Cox has had enough time to live down his extra-marital issue from a few years ago.; ▶ Reply to This
