What is Rotation Function?
GOM Player includes Rotation function that allows you to rotate videos clockwise in 90, 180, and 270 degrees. The feature can correct the videos you shoot by your smartphone in landscape orientation. If not rotated, these videos will appear sidewise when imported on your PC.
Note: The Rotation function doesn’t work simultaneously with Flip or Mirror function. Furthermore, you cannot set Rotation settings to all videos until you close your current video.
Rotate a Video in GOM Player
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to rotate a video in GOM Player:
Step 1: Launch GOM Player
Step 2: Select the video you want to rotate
Step 3: Rotate your video in whatever degree you want: 90, 180 or 270 degrees. You can rotate your video using three different ways:
- The easiest and quickest way to rotate a video is using a keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + Shift + S
This hotkey will help you cycle through the rotation process one by one. It means that every time you press this keyboard shortcut, your video will rotate by 90, 180, 270 and again its normal position i.e. 0 degrees, and this cycle will go on until you stop pressing the key.
- The second way to enable rotation feature in a video is by using your mouse.
Simply, right-click on the video playback screen and choose a Video from the list. Click on the Rotate option from the appearing menu. It will offer you three options: 90, 180 or 270 degrees. Select the one that best suits your requirement.
- Another way to rotate a video is by using GOM Player’s Preferences
- Go to Preferences window by pressing F5 keyboard shortcut
- Choose a Video you want to rotate
- Navigate to the bottom of the appearing menu and select the Rotate Now, choose your preferred degree of rotation to apply it to your video
